What's the Back Story:
Commemorating the timeless medieval Bavarian town of Kloster von Mönchen or "Cloister for Monks" known now as Munich in most modern guidebooks. Lore has it that Flash der Münchner Otter saved the city of monks in the late summer of 1347 from imminent doom as the Isar river was plotting to flood following heavy autumnal rains. Unlike any otter, Flash was trained in the aqueduct and damming techniques of the Castoridae. Using his aquatic prowess Flash diverted the swelling waters of the Isar, bypassing the fledgling town. Today, remnants of this feat are attributed by the creation of the Ammersee, Tegernsee, und Chiemsee.
